I have been doing a lot of homemade snacks today and decided to quick make another one before the boys went to bed. We even let Dominic help out! He helped pour the honey and brown sugar, and measured out the granola. And put on the peanut butter chips! He loved it. Now here is his concentration face.. tongue out and all haha

Man it is hard to remember to get on and post during the weekend! Today's picture is brought to you by a toddlers version of pure joy!

And I am sad to say there will not be a 29/366. I totally did not pick up my camera once yesterday :(

I am finding that I have to check the date to know what day I am doing. I am screwed once February starts!
Tonight I was going to take a posed picture of my husband but it got late and we got lazy. So instead I bring to you, my new "shampoo and conditioner" of choice. I wont be showing you a before picture as my hair already looks icky lol. But I will post an after picture in a week or 2 so you can see that it really DOES work!

For the record, it will only take a week or 2 because your hair has to get used to not having it's natural oils stripped every single time you use a store bought shampoo. Next will be homemade soap and lotion!

So my sister came up with this brilliant idea to go to the kid's room at the nature center. The kids loved it!
Certain areas were just too bright to take good pictures, bummer since I had some cute shots. But overall it had some decent light!

My parents were over for supper today and as usual, they are very fun people! My dad bought this cowboy hat in Colorado I believe, and my son wanted his matching hat on so he grabbed the red one. Then grandma thought it would be great to get a pic of her in the red hat and grandpa in his.. so here is that one. I love this pic because my dad almost never smiles in pics and he was smiling big because he was laughing at the boys.

Yesterday I handed the camera to my oldest son (my digital, not my DSLR, I'm not quite THAT crazy!) and let him go to town. He had a blast!!! I will be giving him his own FB album for his work lol. Anyways this was my pic of him enjoying taking pictures

He kept trying to get really close to it before taking a picture since I have to look through my viewfinder to take a pic, he thinks he does too.

I am feeling completely uninspired today. And it shows with this skirt. I love the fabric but the way it fits, just bleh! And it's not long enough, I screwed up when cutting it. And I can't think of a damn thing else to take a picture of so today, you get to feel my complete lack of inspiration!

Anyone have any ideas on what to take pictures of? I am clearly lacking

I had a REALLY bad day today. So my wonderful husband took a few extra minutes on his way home to stop and buy me some flowers. He bought me tulips! I don't think I've ever gotten tulips before. So this is the picture I took for today

I really like how this one turned out. I do think the focus fell a little to the right, but I tried and tried and couldn't get it better. Darn.

I totally failed yesterday and did not take one single picture.. not even a video to save myself! I do however have a picture of the skirt I had mostly finished yesterday so that will be the installment for today(yesterday)

I will get a picture of it on me later today. And work on getting today's picture done as well

Today my husband and I moved things around in the basement in anticipation of my new desk! Well not new, new to me. We were able to pick it up from my mom's tonight and this is my new set up (not finished but the majority of it is done)

The black drawers are full of fabric, the shelves have all the acrylic/non-wool yarn. The white drawers have wool in top drawer, fabric scraps middle drawer, and yarn scraps bottom drawer. The black drawers below that have not been dedicated to anything yet. Neither have the drawers in the desk. I know one of the top drawers will have all of my sewing supplies:scissors, thread, needles, etc.
I am soo excited to have a specific place for all of my crafting stuff. The best part? The boys have a toy room off to the right of this so I can craft while they play!!

So I did take lots of pics yesterday! But they needed editing and it was date night, so I am late (yet again) As I said, I took a lot! But I will just show you one.

This was the best one of Cameron. And I just couldn't get Shawn's shadow gone enough. Oh well!

Sweet Pork Loin

1 pork loin (16oz)
I didn't actually measure the ingredients, just know that the more water you add, the more ingredients you have to add
LOTS of
brown sugar (roughly 2cups give or take)
mapeline (roughly 2-3Tbs)
mustard (roughly 3/4-1cup)
balsamic vinegar (roughly 1/2 cup)
minced onions (I used dried, who wants to cry) (roughly 1/4-1/2 cup)

and some
salt (roughly 1Tbs)
pepper (roughly 1Tbs)
garlic powder (roughly 1.5Tbs)

I added enough water to cover the loin, and have since decided it didn't need quite so much water. My husband says maybe 2ish inches of water, and just to check on it periodically

So today I went out on a limb and tried a self portrait. I used my 50mm lens because it is sooo crisp! It did make it hard to get a good shot in such a tight space though. In hindsight, I maybe should have had the camera up higher and that would have made it easier, but then I wouldn't have been able to see in the viewfinder to focus, so it's a bit of a catch 22. I also clearly used my tripod and the timer on my camera. I am by the way, completely in love with my new background though! Now I will just have to master getting rid of wrinkles during post processing

Well it wont upload so here it is on youtube
It is a video of my oldest shaking his booty and was supposed to be of my youngest walking.. but he fell and then the camera died :(

I have quite a few pictures to share today!
I went to Amanda Hocking's second book signing tonight. It was so great to see a friend doing so well. If you have not read her books, they are a MUST!
I was lucky enough to get a book signed, however it is signed for my sister in law. Hopefully some day I will go to another signing and get one for myself. I took a picture of this.. yup I'm a dork lol
Here is the original

And of course my edited version

And I hemmed up my other 2 pairs of jeans. I am REALLY enjoying not walking around looking like a damn hobo with jeans rolled up and still too long and holes in the back. Just sayin'!

And all 3 together :D

And then here is my edited version

And now I realized I chopped off the tippy top of his head.. oops. At any rate I cropped it, took out some red in his skin, and some yellow, and brightened it and added some contrast.

Crock pot Teriyaki Chicken

I used 3 md-lg skinless, boneless chicken breasts
For the sauce I used
3/4 a bottle of store brand (Hyvee) Teriyaki Sauce (that is all I had, any brand and a whole bottle will work just fine)
4Tbsp brown sugar
2Tbsp minced onions (dried because I hate crying, but you could use fresh)
1/2 Tbsp salt (I didn't know I had soy sauce, you can use either)
4 md sized garlic cloves, crushed
I filled the teriyaki bottle with water to help mix the sauce, after I mixed all the sauce ingredients together, I placed the frozen chicken breasts in the crock pot, covered with sauce, then added water until the chicken was covered (this is important, you do not want to burn the sauce). I let it cook on Low for 5 hours. As long as you add enough water though, you could let it cook all day if you need to. I paired it with these noodles minus the sesame oil (none in the house).

As a side note, my husband said if I butterflied the breasts, it would have had more flavor in the middle. But I am far too lazy to thaw them, cut them, then throw them together. Anything that does not require me to mess with uncooked meat is good in my book.

So I actually took these photos at 12:07 Mon morning BUT the project I am showing was completed on the 8th so I am counting this.
My friend Tara who is super tall sent me this link. She knew she'd find someone to use it, and being 5ft tall I was just the perfect person for it!
It shows you how to hem your pants but still use the original hem, genius!

Here is my finished product

These look a little short to me BUT I have spent the last 27 years having to fold my pant legs up so what do I know! And I have sat in them, they don't ride up like high waters so I think they are good. The best part? These jeans are valued at over $100 (not what I paid!!) and I couldn't wear them even in heels without having to fold them up a little bit. Now I don't have to, and I don't have to wear heels haha.
I intend on fixing the other few pairs of jeans I own. It will be so nice to not have holes in the bottom of my jeans from stepping on them and them dragging on the ground!

I had to go redo my shots for today's photo because the first ones were WAY out of focus. Lame. Alas, after some advice from my photography board I was able to come up with a few I liked. I may be revisiting this again in the coming days to try a few different settings so if you see another moon shot, don't fret, I did indeed take new pictures.

I digress! Today's picture for your viewing pleasure:

I will start this post by admitting.. I had to see what days I had done before knowing what day to title this. Apparently I forgot the days coincide with the actual date.. stupid!
At any rate, another late post but again I did take some pics yesterday. Nothing fantastic or worth editing so we will just go with funny.
Cameron loves pudding, not so much when his iron med is mixed in with it. So instead of letting me feed it to him, he smacked the spoon and got it all over himself.. and then made a face at me lol

So as I looked out my window tonight I realized that while it was dark at 5:30pm, the sun was not completely down. The wonderful part about not living in town is that I have a wide open view of the sky as the sun sets!
So I rushed out and snapped a few pics. I had a hard time deciding which to use for tonight's blog post so I made my hubby decide lol

I went with something a bit different today. Everyone will get sick of seeing my boys if all 366 pics are of them lol. So I brought out my 70-300mm lens (zoom lens) and took a few shots out my back window. This is the straight out of camera (sooc/unedited) version

This is my edited version

I actually only took ONE picture today. Well I took more but deleted them all haha. And I guess I took 3 since I took some of my newest sewing quest (to come at end of post)
Cameron's baby blues!

I clearly did not take this next pic as I am in it but I had to include it. Dominic had started out making faces at me by pinching his own cheeks/eyes. Then he decided to pinch mine instead ;)

The boys matching pj pants, took a lot of work because my sewing machine decided to fail me last night. Did you know the bobbin has a tension screw? Yeah me either! So anyways, I finished these both tonight but am going to go back tomorrow and redo Cameron's waist band. I can't wait to get action pics of these!!!

I am a day behind!! Sorry guys! I did take pictures though so no worries, I have not failed on day 2 or 3 yet!
Cameron got his first haircut yesterday! And Shawn and Dominic got theirs cut as well. The first is of course a before shot from yesterday morning.

All 3 boys, aren't they cute? Too bad they wouldn't sit still haha

Grandma and Grandpa came over to entertain the boys while we cut their hair. Grandma brought a chalk board for Dom and it was surprisingly helpful!

Day 1/366!!

My first picture this year is of my niece Elsa and nephew Liam. They are super cute, and only made better by the fact that they happened to BOTH look at the camera!
I hope to get some less snapshot-y pics through out this year but today was not a day to set up a pic. Just a belated family Christmas with my side of the family!
